Heat not coming on
Doraville Heating and Furnace Repair
Clicks with no flame, air that never warms up or a furnace that starts and quits. Diagnosed step by step and fixed with the price agreed first.
Most No-Heat Calls Come Down to a Handful of Parts
A gas furnace has to clear a short list of safety checks before it will make heat, and a failure at any one of them leaves the house cold. The draft motor has to start and prove airflow through the vent. The igniter has to get hot enough. The gas valve has to open, the burners have to light and a flame sensor has to confirm it. Only then does the blower push warm air through the ducts. When the system stops partway, many control boards flash a code that hints at where. The usual culprits are familiar: a hot surface igniter that has cracked, a flame sensor with a coating that blocks its signal, a draft motor wearing out, a pressure switch tube with water in it, or a high limit switch tripping because airflow is choked by a dirty filter or closed vents. Electric furnaces and air handlers have elements, sequencers and relays instead. Short cycling happens with heat too. A furnace that lights, runs briefly and shuts off is often overheating or losing its flame signal, and both point to specific parts. Before calling, check the thermostat mode and setting, the switch on or near the furnace, the breaker and the filter. Any whiff of gas overrides the checklist. Get outside, ring the gas utility or 911 from the yard and save the repair call for after the leak is dealt with.
Furnace Parts We Repair and Replace
These account for most heating calls.
Hot surface igniters
Cracked or weak igniters that never get hot enough to light the burners.
Flame sensors
Restored or swapped when burners light and then cut out within seconds.
Draft inducer motors
Noisy, slow or seized motors that keep the startup sequence from finishing.
Pressure switches and tubing
Cleared or replaced when they block ignition.
High limit trips
Overheating traced to airflow, then the switch and the cause both addressed.
Blowers
Motors, capacitors and wheels checked when warm air never reaches the rooms.
Electric heat parts
Heating elements, sequencers and relays on electric units and on air handlers with strip heat.
On a No-Heat Visit
Gas safety
Any gas odor goes to the gas company first. Otherwise, basic checks get covered by phone.
Find where it stops
Error codes read, each step of startup tested, the faulty part identified and priced.
Fix and run
Repair made, several heat cycles run, and the safeties confirmed before the technician leaves.
Why Furnace Calls Come Here
No parts cannon
Testing first means you pay for the part that failed, not three that might have.
Safety confirmed
Limits, rollout switches and venting are checked every time a furnace is opened.
Help on cold nights
When the heat quits after hours, the breakdown line takes the call.

Thermostat Calling, Furnace Not Answering?
Describe what the furnace does when the thermostat calls for heat. A technician will help with the basics by phone and then find the part that is stopping it.
